Meeting My Daughter's Birth Mother

A Lithuanian highway was taking us into the unknown. Through the car window I watched the moving landscape: the lakes, birch trees, meadows of yellow rapeseed flowers, and rows of stately Queen Anne's lace. My husband David, my 20-year-old daughter Masha and I had been preparing for this drive to meet my daughter's birth mother for a long time.
